How did you meet?

Anthony and Maureen met at a friend’s wedding in Punta Cana.  They connected at the welcome happy hour and bumped into each other throughout the next few days, always excited to see a new friendly face.

Who made the first move?

Maureen, in true elder millennial fashion, sent Anthony a Facebook friend request.  No, Mark Zuckerberg was not sent a thank you note.

What first drew you to each other?

Maureen: Aside from the unironic mustache, you mean?  Anthony’s joy and sense of humor are the things that most attracted me to our conversations, making me smile and laugh when I didn’t know many people at the wedding.
Anthony:  During our conversations at the Welcome Happy Hour, he enjoyed chatting and laughing, and didn’t want to leave to go to dinner with his friends.

What is your favorite memory with each other?

Maureen: Getting trapped in a National Park on our 1-year anniversary of dating.  We learned a lot about each other and were able to come out of the experience with smiles and one heck of a story.
Anthony: Honestly? Our first meeting was pretty awesome and memorable.

What is your favorite way of spending time together?

Maureen:  Couch snuggles with Bert and some terrible show I “got (Anthony) hooked on”
Anthony: Making things together in the kitchen, be it meatballs on our third date, trying new recipes, or making our favorite classics.

How did you get engaged?

Per Maureen’s preference, it was very low key.  So low key that she didn’t realize it was happening.  Anthony and Maureen were chatting and then he randomly popped the question.  Maureen’s response?  “Of course, babe!  So, as I was saying…”.  Then she realized he was holding a ring and said yes!

Why did you decide on a destination wedding?

It seems like there is no better way to celebrate our wedding than back where it started.  A warm place, a party with loved ones, and a beach!
